What is two hues?

Two Hues is a short film, released on the film festival circuit in 2021, where it picked up five awards.
The short film is about Natasa, a bipolar photographer whose polar opposite moods are conveyed using colour. The feature film is currently in development and was selected to pitch at Cannes NEXT in 2022. The lead's name has been changed to Lameez for the feature film. Two Hues is Africa's first film3 project.

About the Creator

Weaam Williams, is an award-winning South African filmmaker and activist. Her work is strongly grounded in promoting a culture of human rights, and her current body of work focuses on Muslim women from the perspective of introspection and the external gaze.

LOGLINE

Lameez, is a bipolar photographer and silent victim of sexual assault who wants to experience peace of mind, and independence. She manages to cope with the patriarchy at home and at work until the lines between art and rationality are blurred.

TWO HUES

CONCEPT

Two Hues is a high concept art-house drama, with a fair amount of action and comedy. Lameez's polar opposite moods are displayed with colour i.e. pink manic highs and deep blue downward spirals.
